Today the Church celebrates the glorious Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ into Heaven, forty days after His Resurrection. Christ did not abandon us in His Ascension — rather, He opened the gates of Heaven for humanity and seated our human nature at the right hand of the Father.
The Ascension reminds us that this world is not our final home. We are called to live for the Kingdom of God while bringing Christ into the world through prayer, holiness, charity, repentance, and love.
Before ascending, Christ commanded the Apostles to go into all nations preaching the Gospel. This mission now belongs to us as well. We are called to become living witnesses of Christ in our homes, communities, and daily lives.
As Christ ascended in glory, let us also spiritually ascend:
- Above hatred
- Above division
- Above pride
- Above worldliness
- Above despair
Lift your hearts toward Heaven today. Deepen your prayer life. Love one another. Forgive one another. Walk the narrow path with courage.
Where Christ has gone before us, we are called to follow.
Christ is Ascended in Glory!
